• FOOD CONCESSION - VIVEVERDE

    Commercial, San Juan 2013

The commission involves the intervention of two existing spaces related to the East Connector Project in the Tropical Medicine Building. These two sites are to become food concessions, totaling about 1,724 sqft. Both concessions face the iconic central patio of Tropical Medicine, and one of them also faces the new lineal plaza between Tropical Medicine and the Senate Annex. The biggest of the two is about 1,000 sqft and is destined to be a health food store, selling local products and confectioning fresh, nutritious meals. The neat, refreshing environment of Viveverde helps communicate the idea of a healthy lifestyle. Important features of the health shop, like the main service counter and some larger tables have been custom-designed to fit the intent of the place. The walls of Viveverde also serve as educational info-graphics about the local produce economy.
