The project consists of the design and construction of a 2-story building to serve as a Medical Office Building of an existing Health Center in Gurabo, the Centro de Medicina Familiar. The program provided by the client required approximately 6,800 sqft of net space. We are proposing a structure with a total of 9,468 sqft of interior space and an open terrace of approximately 1,600 sqft to be used for company activities and to serve as space for future expansions. A double height space at the entrance houses the lobby, which welcomes visitors and employees and where vertical and horizontal circulations converge, while toilet facilities are discretely found, next to the waiting area.

An aluminum sunscreen has been incorporated to the building's façade to serve not only as a heat transfer reducing element, which will reduce energy consumption, but also as a skin treatment which pattern and color infills are inspired in the vernacular and iconographic colorful houses that stand out within the panoramic hillside view of Gurabo.
