This project reimagines a suburban home to create a stronger connection with its natural surroundings, addressing previous limitations such as restricted views, inadequate ventilation, and compromised privacy. The redesign strategically reorients bedrooms to the north, offering peaceful views of greenery and soft, indirect light. A slatted wood-aluminum screen along the south-facing corridor provides both shade and privacy, while public spaces open to koi ponds, native landscaping, and full-height glass walls blurring the line between indoors and out. A new sculptural staircase and skylight bring natural light and movement to the heart of the home.
Sustainability is integral to the design, with solar panels, rainwater harvesting, and passive cooling strategies reducing the home’s environmental footprint. These elements reflect a holistic approach that integrates the building with its tropical setting, enhances resource efficiency, and prioritizes occupant comfort. The result is a modern, high-performance home that aligns functionality, environmental stewardship, and architectural elegance.
